November Twilight

November Twilight
Oil on Linen

We're hosting Thanksgiving this year. So I've been busy, busy cleaning, shopping and planning. I'm sure a lot of you are too! Our gathering keeps growing. This year will be a crowd of twenty. We're borrowing another Weber charcoal grill since my husband is making two turkeys instead of just one. He always grills outside and people love to gather around to be outside while waiting for the food to be done. The guys also have a tradition of toasting the turkey with B&B.

I need to take my studio apart to make room for two extra tables in our little sunroom. I'll put it right back after Thanksgiving.

I hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

I am in the same boat as you--having to clean and get things ready for a crowd. What a lot of work! I am always happy when it is over--but everyone loves getting together so it is worth it.

Your painting feels like November!...Nicely done!

It sounds like a wonderful get together. I like the part about being outside and toasting the holiday. Almost worth giving up the studio for! I love the light in this November painting. Is it possible that this style will be your "signature style"?.

Happy Thanksgiving. I had to travel to my dad's and cook.
At least I didn't have to give up my painting space! I just bought $300.00 worth of oil paint, brushes, medium and even pastels. Dick Blick lost their lease. I'm painting but have nothing to post yet.

Hi Willow, Hope your Thanksgiving was happy! I love your avatar!

Hi Celeste, You were the hostess too! Yes it was work, but so many happy memories!

Hi Betsy, I'm so happy to 'know' you too. Your blog is a happy place!

Hi Rahina, Thanks! The soft look was just what I was aiming for!

Hi Catherine, Interesting question. I feel my style is always evolving, but the Tonalism style feels authentic to me. I can't wait to get my studio put back together!

Hi Neetzy, That's so sweet that you cooked at your Dad's. I'm so looking forward to your next painting. Your last one was amazing!

November Twilight has so much atmosphere. I had only a small Thanksgiving gathering this year, because my kids with their families came beforehand:)

Janelle, your work is brilliant. I was watching David Dunlop and you have achieved in your work some of the masters techniques he demonstrated. Excellent.
