Cure for Cabin Fever

Van Gogh

We are still in the midst of having our basement reconstructed after the flood from December.  Everything had to be covered or brought upstairs since they are still working on the drywall.  And the dust just seems to float upstairs through the heating vents.  Needless to say, this has had an impact on my painting.

So a little inspiration was in order.  Going to the Art Institute of Chicago always fills my creative well.  These photos were taken on my brother's iPhone.  I can't believe the great quality.

I hope your February has been a beautiful one, filled with inspiration.

Poor you, I didn't realise you got flooded. Didn't that happen to you before? hope it all gets back to normal for you soon. Thank you for sharing the masterpieces with us they are beautiful, especially the colours. That phone takes great photos!

Janelle, I can only imagine how discomboobulated it is to have your studio packed up during renovation. Well, it will be a big thrill to get it back and you'll be doubly productive then! I love the Art Institute of Chicago! I wish I lived closer, I'd be there a lot! Looking forward to your new art from your "new" studio!

Yikes! Good luck getting everything back in workable order, Janelle! Your paintings look awesome in the new gallery.

Oh my! I wish I could remember how I found your blog - click clicking away and I ended up finding a spot I seemed to like :) - so sorry to hear about your flooding, but a trip to the Art Institute I am sure lifted your spirits! I have been to Chicago only once many years ago - The Field Museum. I was only fifteen, and I rather liked it. Any kind of museum will make me happy.
