Moonshine

Moonshine
16x20
Oil on Linen

This painting is another departure from my usual warm skies. I'm not sure about the lack of drama. There is just something about warm, glowing skies. This sky is actually blue-green although on my monitor it shows up as blue.

But Mother Nature gives us time to rest and reflect. If we had dramatic beauty all of the time, we would never have time to rejuvenate. So here's my sleepy time painting.

I find this so calming. Another wonderful painting Janelle and a perfect title too! I think you are right, we don't always need the dramatic scenes from nature. Clam, tranquil moments are needed too. Great work!

Janelle, this is an amazing painting. I can feel the soft glow of moonlight and can almost hear the crickets serenading the coming nightfall. Thank you for sharing your work. Blessings!

Beautifully painted Janelle, it was good to be able to click on your painting to get a larger image. You have managed to paint those glimpses of sky through the trees, I remember Deborah telling us how that was done, I found that so hard to achieve. A very accomplish painting well done!

In this painting I feel as if the light is cooler and thinner. It reminds me of a cold spring morning before the sun comes up, when you can see your breath before the warmth fills in later in the day. It has a very mellow feeling. It is true, some paintings don't need to shout at us...they can just BE there and allow us to be calm and reflect.

Hi Catherine, Oooh, I like your description. Makes me think I should be keeping a similar journal of every painting. Thanks!

Hi Silver, Thanks for visiting. Your new doggie, Pickles, is adorable!

Hi Celeste, Sometimes I wish I could be as prolific an artist as you. Thanks!
