Evening Shore

Evening Shore
Oil on Linen
8x10

Just a small, simple painting today.  I'm feeling lazy from sailing on Lake Michigan yesterday.  It's like the words from the song "summertime and the living is easy".

Great small painting. Loose and energetic! Small paintings are great to loosen us up! I haven't been sailing in a while. We used to go all the time! I hope to get back in my studio by the end of this week. I finish my final (masters' degree) class TOMORROW!

Maybe small and simple, but exquisite and soft and yet great hard edges where they're needed.
Sailing sounds so wonderful! I've never done that here.

Hi Kathleen, I need to check out your new Wordpress metalworking blog. Thanks!

Hi Neetzy, Congratulations on finishing your Master's degree! Wow!

Hi Karen, The sailing has been infrequent this summer because of so much rain and chilly weather. We might take a lake-crossing sail in August if it ever warms up!

Very gorgeous. You absolutley capture the mood. And I love you're reflections, so sensitive. I didn't even realize until this moment that you were able to say all that and yet not over power us with a lot of unnecessary colors.

Hi Susan, Thanks for noticing the limited color because that's my goal these days. Sometimes the hardest thing for me is to keep it simple!

I enjoy your glowing layered work...but direct paintings, like this one, are equally as enjoyable. It doesn't seem lazy at all--it seems spontaneous.

It's really calm and soothing. It's really nice.

Wow, Janelle. This is very successful. I really like the energy, simplicity and looseness.

Keep up the good work!

you always said such sweet encouraging short one or two liners but that's enough for me to feel your sincerity and warmth..though we are thousands of miles away.

You're one of those i wish i could just go knock on your door and see if you're home.. even when i am basically someone who loved keeping to myself.

I have trouble saying thank you to compliments.. i hope you have much less trouble in that dept! Have i told you you are really PRETTY ? I have trouble with lying too.

that is, i don't do that very well.

You paintings match you. Beautiful. ;)
